![]() FaceTime should now remember your preferred (external) camera so long as it is available whenever FaceTime is next launched. Then repair permissions, launch FaceTime and set your preferred camera, quit FaceTime, and immediately re-launch FaceTime. If FaceTime still does not remember your external camera when you launch, quit FaceTime. However, if the external camera you set is not available (connected, turned on, and NOT in use by some other app) next time you launch the app, the app will default to your inbuilt webcam (or possibly to some other connected camera.)Įither keep the external camera you want to use with FaceTime connected and turned on all the time, or, BEFORE every FaceTime launch, reconnect the cam, turn it on, and check that it is not being used by any app. (2) Apple apps that use more than one camera should save your latest preferences when you quit. There is no System Preference video input setting. ![]() Audio has a System Preference setting, but cameras are controlled by individual software apps.
